I think this could be a very decisive stage, along with S17 through the Colombiere and Tourmalet (!)
I reckon S17 is the Queen Stage of the tour (not S20 up the Ventoux, as some are claiming).
Some serious time could be put into on-the-cusp GC contenders here.
Brown-man and I will be camped out on the Grand Saint Bernard (S16) and one the Roseland or Colombiere on S17. In both cases we’ll ride our bikes up (oh joy, I’ll have around 10kg of camera gear).
Anyway, check the video below, the scenery looks amazing, I can’t wait to start spinning in some real hills. Hotham is getting a little ho-hum (maybe I should just go faster up it?).
