I really want Cadel Evans to win this tour. I feel for him too – 23 seconds (on bonuses!) and 53 odd seconds is very close. I admire his guts and grit, and really he has a supreme physiology. He has suffered from poor recruitment decisions (I believe) and some bad luck. A win would be talent and promise fulfilled.
I think this year with Lance and Contador back, and with Sastre being in a different team from the Brothers Schleck, Cadel has a lot less pressure on him – you can see this in his face and how he interviews.
He should be relaxed and confident in my opinion (not everyone is going to gang up on him this year). But instead, we get:

Now I don’t want to seem overly harsh but I am a bit over the beakering. Honesty is all well and good but I get sick of this type of carry on.
So, in aid of our wish to see the man fulfil his potential, we’ve come up with a tshirt, the Schnell Cadel. I’m hoping this will inspire him. We’ll be wearing these on our trip to France and have them on hillside (if it’s hot, I’ll be shirtless with this written on my chest or something – watch for the Boxing Kangaroo).
